Here’s the latest information on the Chicago Fire Department's OFI units. They are now stationed out of Engine 16’s firehouse, located at 53 E Pershing Road. The OFI Headquarters is also based there, and they’ve taken over the South EMS Division side of the building. I believe the South Side EMS Division has since moved to Engine 84’s station.
Below is a list of the current OFI units:
- OFI 4-6-6 – 2015 Ford Explorer FDB604
- OFI 4-6-7 – 2018 Ford E350 FDB622
- OFI 4-6-8 – 2015 Ford Explorer FDB606
- OFI 4-6-9 – 2018 Ford E350 FDB625
These units seem to be part of the ongoing reorganization and reallocation efforts within the CFD. It’s always interesting to see how different departments adapt and shift locations over time.
