About C17300 Leaded Beryllium Copper
Cube2Pb--C17300 (CDA 173) Leaded Beryllium Copper is a high-performance alloy that closely resembles the leaded alloy C17200. It offers excellent mechanical strength after heat treatment, making it ideal for demanding applications. The addition of a small amount of lead enhances its machinability, allowing for smoother cutting and reducing tool wear by promoting the formation of fine chips during automated machining processes.
Common Applications
Electrical Components: Contact bridges, switch blades, relay contacts, motor parts, navigation instruments, clips, connectors, and fuse clips are commonly made from this alloy due to its conductivity and durability.
Mechanical Fasteners: Screws, bolts, washers, retaining rings, lock washers, and other fastening components benefit from the alloy’s strength and resistance to deformation under stress.
Industrial Parts: This material is widely used in splined shafts, pump components, valves, non-sparking tools, flexible metal hoses, bushings, springs, bellows, welding equipment, diaphragms, and Bourdon tubes, where both strength and precision are essential.
