The Saudi Arabian Jubail-based integrated petrochemical production facility of Saudi Arabian Polymer Co., Ltd. was recently completed and is expected to be put into commercial production in the first quarter of 2012. The integrated device can produce 1.165 million tons of ethylene, 445,000 tons of propylene, 1.1 million tons of polyethylene, 400,000 tons of polypropylene, 200,000 tons of polystyrene, and 100,000 tons of 1-hexene. The petrochemical complex began construction in January 2008 and could create approximately 950 jobs. The company is a joint venture between Chevron Phillips Chemicals and its partner Saudi National Petrochemical Company.
