Today, Chicago police officers, along with Chief of Patrol Fred Waller and Deputy Chief of Community Policing Dwayne Betts, revealed a brand-new look for CPD patrol vehicles—marking the first major design change in decades. The fresh style was created by Officer Jennifer Jacobucci and chosen through a collaborative effort involving both police officers and local community members. The updated design keeps the iconic blue and white colors, paired with the department's well-known motto: “We Serve & Protect.”

In addition to the new visual identity, these next-generation patrol cars come equipped with advanced technology. Officers will now have access to mobile computers that allow them to retrieve real-time data while on duty. Improved lighting systems also enhance visibility and police presence. Some units, like the one showcased today, are fitted with license plate recognition technology, making it easier and faster for officers to identify stolen vehicles.

The new fleet is set to roll out later this year, but you can already see them at the Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place from February 9 to 18.
