On Thursday around 5:25 p.m., the Cicero Fire Department received multiple calls about a residential fire on the 3500 block of South 56th Court. First responders arrived to find heavy flames coming from the rear of a 25 x 30-foot, single-story home. Firefighters quickly began their attack and brought the fire under control in less than 10 minutes, preventing it from spreading further.

These photos, taken by Eric Haak, show the intensity of the fire and the efforts of the first responders as they worked to extinguish it. It's a reminder of how vital emergency services are in times of crisis.
