Harvey firefighters responded to a second-alarm house fire at 192 E. 157th Street yesterday afternoon (January 22, 2015). The incident was captured by photographers Josh Boyajian and Tim Olk.
From Josh Boyajian:
"Yesterday, we arrived at the Harvey fire on 192 E. 157th Street. We were coming from Merrionette Park, so it took us a little while to get there. When we arrived, Harvey's crew was already on the first floor, but heavy flames were still visible from the second floor. The structure made it difficult for crews to knock down the fire, but they managed to prevent it from spreading to the house to the east. Here are some of my photos."

The images show the intensity of the blaze, with firefighters working under challenging conditions. Several photos capture the fire engine arriving at the scene, as well as the house fully engulfed in flames. One photo shows a firefighter carrying a dog to safety, highlighting the efforts to protect both people and property. Smoke-filled streets and the presence of fire chiefs overseeing operations add to the urgency of the situation. Additional shots from Tim Olk depict the aftermath, showing the extent of the damage and the ongoing efforts to contain the fire.
