One of Volvo's China strategies

The composition of Volvo China's strategy is part of Sweden's national global strategy. From the construction equipment to the core development of the car, all of them reflect the high-end technological penetration of NATO island countries. No one doubts the innovative ability of Swedes in a simple manner.

The Qinghai-Tibet Railway, which runs through the thin air in the roof of the world

The Qinghai-Tibet Railway will be open to traffic on July 1. In the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau with 70% oxygen in the air, let alone construction, it is normal.
Standing and walking are all very laborious things.

No matter how different environmental and climatic conditions are, Volvo Construction Equipment's meticulously-constructed construction equipment can cope with it and be invincible.

In every corner of the earth, whether in the rainforest, the cold wilderness of the base, the hot desert, the high mountains, the vast forest, or the depths of several hundred meters below the surface, Volvo's equipment has demonstrated extraordinary performance: It can still operate effectively, safely and smoothly under extreme conditions.

One of the most challenging examples is the Tibet Railway Construction Project. China’s railway construction army has built a plateau railway with the highest altitude and longest route in the world.

Tibet is located in western China and is a vast expanse of high mountains. It is also one of the lowest and most remote areas in the world. Its altitude is 5,000 meters above sea level, and when the temperature is lowest, it reaches minus 20 degrees. The oxygen content in the air is only 40 percent of the plains. % to 50%.

It stretches for 1.2 million square kilometers and only two residents per square mile. In this beautiful and quiet area, the average altitude is 4000 meters.

Regarding people and machines, Tibet is a work place with a very harsh natural environment.

The Qinghai-Tibet railway project was started in June 2001 and completed in July 2006.

In the two major sections of the Tibet Railway construction project, Volvo China's construction equipment can be seen.

The construction of the Yangbajain road section broke ground in August 2001. A construction team of the Second Railway Construction Group Co., Ltd., which is the largest in China's construction industry and has 30,000 employees, has undertaken a vast tunnel construction project and a railway subgrade construction project.

At a plateau with an average altitude of 4,300 meters, they used five Volvo EC360BLC excavators to excavate and move dirt and gravel, and four Volvo G740 motor graders to level the roadbed and ground.

From Amdo to Nagqu, China’s eighteenth Railway Construction Bureau undertook the construction of the track-laying subgrade on an almost suffocating 5,000 meters above sea level.

The project began in September 2002 and used seven Volvo L180 wheel loaders, six Volvo EC290 BLC excavators and eight Volvo Ec210BLC excavators to excavate and carry thousands of tons of frozen soil and gravel.

In both projects, thin air and extremely cold climate are a serious challenge for any mechanical equipment. Be aware of how difficult it is to start any device under this condition.

However, project managers and equipment operators praise the performance of Volvo equipment. Volvo equipment outperforms competitors.

All of this is due to certain changes made by Volvo to the engine, the hydraulic system and the brake accumulator before its equipment was shipped to Tibet.

Volvo participates in some changes to the brake accumulator. Volvo's participation in the high-level projects in Chile and Peru has given it valuable experience in operating equipment efficiently at high altitudes and extremely cold conditions. Getting devices up and running efficiently is always a matter of concern. Feedback from the Tibetan project validates the excellent performance of Volvo equipment under extreme conditions.

The construction of the Tibet Railway not only accelerates the development of the local economy, but also directly or indirectly provides more than 100,000 employment opportunities, thereby improving the lives of people along the railways in Qinghai and Tibet.

The opening of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway has made Tibet's tourism in western China a big step forward.

People have seen hope from practicing the opening of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, which has opened the golden road of Tibet and will stimulate the benefits brought by the entire region. Behind this, Volvo China Construction Machinery demonstrated the power of high technology and its responsibility for global environmental protection. (Zhu Hong)

uPVC window corner-cleaning machine is specially used to clean weld seams on uPVC windows and doors, and it is one of major uPVC window machines. After uPVC profiles are heated, melted, and welded to form window frames or sashes, of which there will be weld seams (weld beadings) on the corners. Cleaning these weld seams with a corner-cleaning machine will not only ensure the beautiful outfit of uPVC windows, but guarantees the weld strength and increases the productivity of uPVC windows and doors.
