Six printing machine standards formally implemented from May 1

From May 1, six new standards for the printing machinery industry will be formally implemented. The names of the six printing machine standards are: "Printing Machine Paper Laminating Machine", "Printing Machine Web Gravure Printing Machine", "Printing Machine Longitudinal Cutting Machine", and "Printing Machinery Flat Press Die Cutting Machine No.1 Part of: Horizontal Press Die-cutting Machine, Printing Machinery Folding Machine, and Special Printing Hot Stamping Machine.

These six standards were revised and completed by the National Printing Machinery Standardization Technical Committee and are recommended industry standards. At the end of November last year, the National Development and Reform Commission approved and issued “124 Machinery Industry Standard Numbers, Names, and Initial Implementation Dates” (Announcement No. 85 of 2006), of which items 80 to 85 are printing machine industry standards. Wu Wenzeng, Secretary-General of the National Printing Machinery Standardization Technical Committee, said in an interview with reporters that among the 6 criteria, except for the “Special Printing Stamping Machine” as the newly established standard, the remaining 5 items are the upgrades to the old standards and the implementation of these old standards. The time has been between 8 and 16 years. According to the convention revised from the standard of 3 to 5 years, these old standards have reached the time to be revised; in addition, the level of technology and manufacturing of domestic printing equipment has indeed increased in recent years. Therefore, the SPC system revised these five criteria.

Wu Wenzeng believes that the introduction of these standards will help promote the improvement of the quality of domestic printers and increase the domestic and market share of domestic printers. He also revealed that by the end of this year, the National Printing Machinery Standardization Technical Committee will launch a number of printing machinery standards.
