CNC EDM walking wire cutting machine operation

This project mainly explains the function of each key on the operation panel of the CNC EDM walking wire cutting machine tool, enabling students to master the adjustment of the CNC EDM walking wire cutting machine tool and the preparation work before processing, as well as program input and modification methods. Finally, taking a specific part as an example, the basic operation process of the CNC EDM walking wire cutting machine processing parts is explained, so that the students have a clear understanding of the operation of the CNC EDM walking wire cutting machine tool.

Project 1 machine tool operation panel and its application

The operation panel of the CNC EDM walking wire cutting machine also includes a control panel and a manual box panel, which are similar to those of the wire cutting machine. Project three electrode wire installation

Referring to the threading route shown in Fig. 1, the filaments of the wound electrode wire on the traction supply reel are successively passed through the compression reel, the drum, the guide wheel, the constant tension control wheel, the upper electrode wire guide, the workpiece, and the lower electrode Wire guide to the drawing drum. The constant tension control device of the servo motor is adjusted within a certain range so that the electrode wire maintains a certain tension and operates stably.

In the wire-waving WEDM process, close-distance machining can be used, even if the distance between the upper guide and the workpiece is as close as possible (about 0.05 to 0.10mm), so as to prevent the wire electrode amplitude from being too large and affecting the machining quality of the workpiece.

After the electrode wire is installed, the verticality needs to be corrected. The calibration method is the same as that of the wire-cutting wire EDM.

Project four workpiece installation

In the wire cutting machine, the bridge fixtures, vertical wire gauges, rotary table, and numerically controlled turntable machine tool accessories and tools can also be used on the slow wire cutting machine.

The wire cutting reference clamp system introduced in recent years employs universal clamping fixtures and alignment tools. It can quickly and accurately complete the alignment and clamping of workpieces with extremely simple operations. It is widely used on the slow-cut wire cutting machines. ,as shown in picture 2.

Item 5 Program Input

According to the requirements of the machine tool operation manual, through the switch between different operation modules, the keyboard is used to input the processing program or directly call the existing program and load it into the memory to complete the operation of generating the workpiece cutting. Before executing the program, run the program simulation once again to check the operating status of the program so as to avoid any undesirable consequences after actual processing. Then press the ENT key to execute the entered program and machine the part.

Project six program operation

A small amount and multiple cutting methods should be used for the slow thread cutting. Due to the reduction of the deformation of the workpiece material during the wire cutting process, the workpiece machining accuracy and the surface quality can be effectively improved, so that a certain margin can be left during rough machining or semi-finishing to compensate for the deformation of the material due to the original stress equilibrium state being destroyed. The machining allowance required for the final finishing and the final finishing process can achieve satisfactory machining results.

Item 7 Parts Inspection

At the end of processing, remove the parts and check the relevant processing parameters.

Item eight shutdown

Shutdown steps are as follows:

1. Move the table to the middle position of each axis;
2, press the red emergency stop button;
3, pull the power switch, turn off the power;
4, disconnect the external line.
