Phosphorus product adds 100% special export tariff

Following the addition of a special export tariff of 100% on phosphate fertilizers and other fertilizer products in April, the Ministry of Finance announced yesterday that, as of the decision of the State Council, exports to all forms of trade, regions, and enterprises will start from May 20, 2008 to December 31, 2008. Phosphorus products, based on the existing export tax rate, are based on export duty-paid prices and are subject to a special export tariff of 100%.
The notification shows that this adjustment involves natural calcium phosphate, natural calcium aluminum phosphate and phosphate chalk (except apatite), apatite and yellow phosphorus (white phosphorus) and other phosphorus products, and their export tariffs will be from the current 10 % and 20% become 110% and 120% after adjustment.
The Ministry of Finance announced in mid-April that from April 20 to September 30, 2008, on the basis of the existing export tax rate, the export price of fertilizer products and some raw materials exported by all trade forms, regions, and enterprises. As a basis, a special export tariff of 100% will be imposed, in which the export tax rate for phosphoric acid is increased from zero to 100%, and the export tariff for phosphate fertilizer is changed from 30% to 130%.
