On Monday night just after 10 PM, the North Maine Fire Protection District (FPD) responded to a dryer fire at 9023 Terrace Place. Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire in the basement, which prompted an upgrade to a working fire. The blaze had spread to another unit within the four-unit townhouse, leading to the activation of a MABAS Box Alarm for additional resources.
Firefighters quickly worked to contain and extinguish the flames, with some of the extra units returning to quarters once the situation was under control. The incident highlighted the importance of rapid response and coordination among multiple fire departments.
At the scene, a total of 17 units were deployed, including North Maine Battalion 1, Engine 1, and Ambulance 1; Des Plaines Battalion 61, Engine 61, Ambulance 61, and Tower 61; Niles Battalion 2, Engine 2, and Truck 2; Morton Grove Battalion 4 and Squad 4; Rosemont Truck 158 and Battalion 9; Mount Prospect Engine 13; Park Ridge Battalion 35; Glenview Ambulance 7 and Engine 7; and Northbrook Ambulance 10.
