Waukegan is added to the site

The Waukegan Fire Department has recently been added to the MABAS Division 4 listings, marking the final and largest department in the county to join. With five fire stations and over 28 pieces of apparatus, Waukegan is well-equipped to handle a wide range of emergency responses. Each station is staffed with an ALS (Advanced Life Support) rescue unit, and four engine companies operate across the city. Notably, Waukegan Station 4 is home to a 105-foot Pierce quint alongside Rescue 1644, showcasing the department’s advanced capabilities.

In addition to standard firefighting units, Waukegan provides specialized services such as a bomb squad, which operates out of an annex at Station 1 and serves both Lake and McHenry Counties. The department also maintains a dive unit, hazmat team, a large squad, and a 6x6 ARFF (Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting) unit at the Waukegan Regional Airport.
