Box Alarm in Evanston, 12-5-16

This is from Steve Redick:

There was a fire at the Evanston Box Alarm on 635 Sherman Avenue. It's a three-story, multi-family apartment building. From what I saw, the engine that was on scene—Engine 25—dropped a large supply line down the alley and used the deck gun to make a good pass over the fire. Flames were blowing out of the second-floor rear window, and the porches were on fire, which then spread to an adjacent building. I also noticed a large solar panel array on the roof, which definitely made venting more challenging. The positioning of the aerial ladder through the trees was well done. This was also my first time seeing the new Skokie tower in action. You can view all the images and a short video here.
