Recently, ArvinMeritor, a US auto parts manufacturer , announced that it plans to invest US$23 million over the next five years to develop the advanced technology capabilities of its technology center. The technology center is located in Troy, Michigan, USA.
Arvin Meritor’s chief operating officer, Carsten Reinhardt, said: “The advanced technologies that ArvinMeritor invests in are focused on fuel economy, next-generation braking technology, suspension and automotive performance. â€
ArvinMeritor applied for and received a $2.2 million grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corp. to the Michigan Economic Growth Authority (MichiganEconomicGrowthAuthority).
In addition, the training grant received from the employee development project in Oakland County, California, USA provided ArvinMeritor with US$1.6 million in funding.
ArvinMeritor expects this project will create 125 jobs.
