Working fire in Skokie, 5-17-17

On Wednesday, May 17, 2017, Skokie firefighters responded to a fire that broke out behind a building located in the 7600 block of South Austin Avenue, near Lehigh Street. The incident prompted a quick response from local emergency services, with multiple fire trucks and equipment arriving at the scene to contain the blaze. Photos from the scene show firefighters using a ladder to access the building, as well as long hose lines being deployed to fight the flames. Several Skokie Fire Department vehicles were seen on the scene, including Engine 18, Truck 18, and Squad 18, all working together to control the fire and prevent it from spreading further. Residents in the area were advised to remain cautious as crews worked to secure the situation. No injuries have been reported so far, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
