Working fire in Berwyn, 6-24-23

On a busy Saturday afternoon, the Berwyn and Cicero Fire Departments responded to a house fire near Cermak Road and Harvey Avenue, located right at the border of both communities. Berwyn Engine 903 arrived first on scene and found a fully involved house that had spread to both adjacent buildings. Firefighters quickly deployed multiple lines to the front and back of the structure. Engine 902 was supplying water to the aerial ladder truck, while Engine 901 moved through the block to reach the rear of the building. The incident was escalated to a Box Alarm level, with seven handlines actively in use. In addition to the local crews, Cicero Engine 2, Forest Park Engine 401, and North Riverside E807 also worked hard to bring the fire under control.
