The overall pattern of instrumentation industry is not stable

The overall pattern of instrumentation industry is not stable In the first half of 2013, the instrument industry was not spared despite the continued slowdown in the global economy. If we say that in 2012 China's instrumentation industry is changing, then in the first half of 2013, China's instrumentation industry is based on "new" changes.

The overall growth pattern of Su, Shanghai and Zhejiang regions is obviously not stable

According to statistics from the China Instrument and Meter Industry Association, as of the end of May, China's instrumentation industry imported 1,353,025,800 US dollars in the first half of 2013, an increase of 3.68% year-on-year. During the same period, exports of 887,588,110 US dollars, an increase of 3.98%. According to statistical analysis, the East China region, which has three major provinces and cities of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, undoubtedly controls the power of the domestic instrumentation market, with year-on-year growth rates of 16.15%, 2.7%, and 8.95%, respectively. In addition, the Yangtze River Delta Region holds a high proportion of 55% of the total value. In contrast, the Bohai Economic Zone and the Northeast Economic Zone in North China are much less visible.

The instrument and meter manufacturing regional market with Jiangsu Province as its core will be effectively promoted and expanded under its leadership. While the Bohai Economic Zone in North China has significant geographical advantages, it is subject to restrictions in technology, products, and manufacturing processes. The promotion of its own market cannot be realized, and the amount of products used and the scope of use still need to be further expanded.

High-tech is a new breakthrough in the development of scientific instruments

Scientific instruments are an important part of the instrumentation industry. Its main business revenue accounts for one-third of the entire instrumentation industry. The development of scientific instruments has a direct impact on national security, public health, and social stability. However, for a long time, due to the slow start and low funds, the overall level of China's scientific instrument industry has been uneven and the weakness is obvious.

At the CISILE 2013 exhibition, Mr. Li Yueguang, full-time vice chairman of the China Instrument and Meter Industry Association, gave an analysis of the status quo of scientific instrument imports, which allowed us to clearly recognize the gaps and find the “new” breakthrough.

In 2012, imports of scientific instruments were approximately US$ 22.64 billion, exports were US$ 10.27 billion, and the import and export deficit was US$ 12.37 billion. The three types of data accounted for 58.2%, 46.8%, and 73.2% of the total instrumentation industry. Among the six categories of instruments for experimental analysis, electronic measuring instruments, medical instrumentation, optical instruments, testing machines, and geodetic special instruments, optical instruments have the largest proportion of imports, accounting for about 6 billion US dollars. Test machines and medical equipment ranked second, accounting for about 53-54 dollars respectively. Among them, the greatest deficits in import and export of experimental analytical instruments accounted for approximately US$4.2 billion.

In view of the current status of the domestic market, some experts predict that high-tech will certainly become the mainstream direction for the development of scientific instruments in the future. The characteristics of faster speed, higher sensitivity, better stability, less sample size, remote sensing telemetering distance, and more convenient use are undoubtedly the “new” challenges for the scientific instrument industry workers in China.

Collaborative innovation is the development trend of instrumentation

The biggest problem faced by the instrumentation industry that is surrounded by vast demand is how to achieve long-term and sustainable economic development. This problem is not only the second half of the year, but may be a longer period of time when instrument and meter industry workers urgently need to think about it.

It is reported that in order to encourage four types of collaborative innovation models that are oriented toward the forefront of science, cultural heritage, and industrial and regional development, China officially launched the "Higher School Innovation Capacity Improvement Plan" (also known as the 2011 plan) in April last year. This will undoubtedly also convey the path of independent innovation to workers in China's instrumentation industry - our signal that we can't make it.

In addition, the government has also given economic support to domestic companies that have independently innovated in research and development. Last year, Jiangsu Tianrui Instrument Co., Ltd. won two special awards from the Kunshan government's “Transformation of Provincial Key Scientific and Technological Achievements” and “Provincial Engineering and Technology Center Construction” at the Talent and Science and Technology Innovation Conference, with a total reward of up to RMB 3.5 million.

According to incomplete statistics, nearly 80% of the CAS Institutes and 60% of the industry's backbone institutes have participated in the establishment of the Collaborative Innovation Center of Colleges and Universities in different ways, and gradually formed a trinity of innovation and research and development among universities, enterprises, and society. Academic atmosphere. Perhaps in the near future, innovative talents in the Chinese instrumentation industry will emerge from the students of the “2011 Program” universities.

From the plan for the beginning of the year to the second quarter of the financial statements, half of 2013 has already passed. How to seize the remaining six months and take the road of innovation is an urgent problem for the instrumentation industry workers.
