Dalian Institute of Chemicals Perovskite single crystal digital image sensor research progress

Research and Development of China Instrument Network Instrumentation Recently, Liu Shengzhong, a researcher of Thin Film Silicon Solar Cell Research Group (DNL1606) of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Associate Professor Yang Zhou and Dr. Liu Yucheng of Shaanxi Normal University have made new progress in the research of perovskite single crystal digital image sensors. The relevant research results were published in Advanced Materials.

As a super material for solar cell applications, the perovskite CH3NH3PbX3 (MAPbX3, X=Cl, Br, I) also shows an important application prospect in the field of optoelectronics.
Compared to polycrystalline films, perovskite single crystals have better optoelectronic properties. The team first developed a low-temperature gradient crystallization method (LTGC) to grow high-quality perovskite CH3NH3PbX3 single crystals by fine-tuning the crystal nucleation and growth processes, resulting in ultra-low defect state densities and greatly improved carrier mobility. Migration rate and carrier migration lifetime.
In addition, researchers successfully used a high-quality single crystal design to produce a large-area (≈1300mm2) imaging assembly consisting of a 729-pixel sensor array. The device has a very fast response speed, excellent light responsivity, high-resolution imaging capabilities, and good stability. It is the first high-performance digital image sensor based on large-size single-crystal perovskites currently researched and reported. For the use of perovskite single crystal materials design and development of new optoelectronic devices provide new ideas.
The above studies were funded by the China National Key Research and Development Program, the Central University Fundamental Research Fund, the National Natural Science Fund Project, the 111 Project, the National University Research Fund, the Changjiang Scholar Innovation Team, and the China National Thousand Talents Program.
