Box Alarm in Evanston, 12-5-16

This is a report from Steve Redick:

There was a fire at the Evanston Box Alarm on 635 Sherman Avenue. It's a three-story, multi-family apartment building. From what I saw, the engine that was on scene, Engine 25, had dropped a large supply line down the alley and used the deck gun to spray it thoroughly. The fire was blowing out from the second-floor rear and had started the porches on fire, which then spread to an adjacent building. I also noticed a large solar panel array on the roof, which likely made ventilation more challenging. The positioning of the aerial ladder through the trees was very well done. This was my first time seeing the new Skokie tower in action. You can view all the images and a short video here.
