·Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Geely Automobile Co., Ltd. recalled some GX7, GX9 and TX4 vehicles

Recently, Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Geely Automobile Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the AQSIQ according to the “Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recall” and the “Implementation Measures for the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recalls”. The following vehicles were recalled for a total of 69,506 vehicles.

(1) Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (a total of 67,989 vehicles):

Some GX7 models produced between September 30, 2014 and October 26, 2015, totaling 63,794 vehicles;

A total of 4,195 vehicles were produced for some GX9 models from May 21, 2014 to February 28, 2017.

(2) Zhejiang Geely Automobile Co., Ltd. (a total of 1517 vehicles):

A total of 1,517 vehicles were produced in some TX4 models from May 16, 2008 to February 23, 2017.

The recall time plan is as follows: The GX7 and GX9 vehicles will be recalled from October 20, 2017; the TX4 vehicles will be recalled from September 30, 2018.

The passenger seat airbags of the GX7 and GX9 vehicles and the driver airbags for the TX4 vehicles in the GX7 and GX9 vehicles were equipped with an ammonium nitrate gas generator without a desiccant produced by Takada. When the airbag is deployed, the gas generator may be abnormally damaged, causing debris to fly out and injuring the inside of the vehicle, posing a safety hazard. Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Geely Automobile Co., Ltd. will freely replace the modified driver or passenger seat passenger airbag assembly to eliminate safety hazards.

Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Geely Automobile Co., Ltd. will entrust Geely Automobile Special Service Station to notify the relevant owners through registered mail, telephone, SMS, etc., and ask the relevant owners to go to the nearest Geely Automobile Special Service Station for free maintenance. Users can call the customer service hotline 400-886-9888 via landline or mobile phone to get the information about this recall.
