A few days ago, Asia's largest single air separation unit project was formally launched in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province. The project was jointly constructed by Jiangsu Thorpe Group and the world-famous industrial gas manufacturer Praxair.
The set of 80000Nm3/h air separation unit is also Praxair's largest single investment so far. The project is fully responsible for the design, construction and operation of Praxair. It will be officially put into production in 2009 and will provide 3,000 tons of industrial oxygen per day to China's largest acetic acid producer Thorpe Group. The air separation unit is integrated with a low-cost coal gasification process, which, in addition to providing oxygen feedstock for the Thorpe Group's acetic acid production facility, will also provide liquid oxygen, nitrogen, and argon for the rapidly expanding East China market.
